No, we shouldn't be regulating morality through the House of Representatives, but unfortunately the court system has become the battle ground of the culture war. (A tactic pioneered by the left and adopted by the right). Rather than interpret existing law, numerous judges have created new law out of whole cloth.

The ability to appoint judges is what so animates the zealots on both sides. Until we figure a way to de - politicize judicial appointments I'm afraid we'll always have the johnny one - notes steering the debate.
