Hi THC,

How many times have you heard about all the low cost mines getting ore at $150 or so? So what's the problem about lower gold prices as far as continued producion a guy is left to think. Someone pointed out an interesting fact about gold (on Kitco?) the other day. While it is true that one can mine gold cheaply in some places, just because it is mineable at $150 or $200 an oz doesn't mean that's all it costs. Exploration and other related expenses actually add another $100 or more an oz to the price mined. So a mine producing at $150 an oz is barely breaking even IF IT WANTS TO KEEP MINING IN THE FUTURE, period. In fact, it might even be running at a loss. --Alan
