taxman re: the long and the short of it"

that was posted in response to the accusation that i was a bear, due to my recent question of dell future direction. it is unwise to blindly follow any company or management.

also long and short puts emc,intc,msft,aol... intc, dell, msft have been long since 96. added more dell, intc, this year. new positions this year emc, aol, netp. i am of the belief that their is no such thing as a bear market...just excursions to the down side that eventually return to the upward trend. my risk reduction in dell will be limited to selling covered calls, or if it breaks through 36 on the downside converting stock into ditm leap calls at a 2:1 ratio (2contacts for every share of underlying) concern about dell the stock is how the market views same...all of "mikeys" talking didn't do much...compare with gerstner(ibm) and chambers(csco) who have seized the "tale of the future" and emblazoned their name on the foreheads of the analysts...motley fool had a listing of the "most identified brand names/companies" in the world...coca cola #1....ibm #3..."perception" sells....
