Really? There may be very short ones, but the basis of a healthy economy is free, wide, roads, in excellent condition. In fact, a primary reason our agricultural products are so inexpensive is that they are cheap to get to market.

Other countries (Ireland is one I am very familiar with) have inefficient roads. Ireland has been described lately as a first world economy with third world roads; billions of dollars of EC money is remedying that at the moment.

Of course, relatively inexpensive food is something that benefits the poor and middle classes, so you would not be remotely interested in that argument as a justification for free roadways.
