ABX are in business - which with a public company means to maximise returns for shareholders - driving competitors out of business is not a primary objective - in fact the majors need juniors to find properties - most are found this way. If competitors fall by the wayside it is not because of Barrick - and I can't think of any competitor of Barrick's which has been, or is likely to be, driven out of business. You don't need to write a thesis - but should re-assess your comment about Barrick shooting itself in the foot - your last posting acknowledges the strength of Barrick. d
