Yeah that is definitely the type of item Amazon should not be selling.... too personal,
don't you agree? Flowers are ok, though.

Michelle,

I am not sure too personal is the proper description of the problem. I believe it more to be one of those products one has to see in real life first. Flowers have always done well on the net. That is personal too in its own way but I used 800 Flowers a few times and was satisfied with the results. There is a lot of jewelry being sold or trying to be sold on the net. The descriptions are better at most places. The description for the DVD you linked out was excellent in my opinion.

Maybe they just put a bunch of stuff out there in their gift section and are seeing what
sticks? There were a bunch of fragmented gift categories for a while there.

Experimentation is necessary. I agree with this. There are so many consumer items it is difficult to know what will work and what will not.

"The Good Guys" is a big discounter of electronic equipment out here ... a chain of
superstores. Their prices are the best with razor thin margins but try to get someone to
help you - no way - and when you do get a salesperson they relentlessly push their
extended warranties on you, either that or the loss leader in the paper isn't in stock
anymore....

The Attorney General has really cracked down on this lost leader not in stock problem in PA. One does not see that too often any more.

the experience is similar to buying a car, painful

I never found buying a car to be a problem. Maybe I am too easy<G>
