Planet Hollywood President/COO Resigns
ORLANDO, Fla. (Reuters) - Struggling theme restaurant operator Planet Hollywood International Inc. (NYSE:PHL - news) said Friday President and Chief Operating Officer William Baumhauer resigned after just one year with the company.

The company, in a one-paragraph statement, said Baumhauer is leaving to pursue other interests. He will also resign his seat on the company's board of directors.

A company spokesman said no decision had been made yet on whether to seek a replacement for Baumhauer.

Planet Hollywood, whose owners include film stars and a movie producer, said earlier this year it would focus on its Planet Hollywood brand and would unload its All-Star Cafe line and scrap plans for hotels and other ventures.

The company last month reported a first quarter loss of $34.7 million, or 32 cents per share, on sales of $75 million, compared with a loss of $4.35 million, or 4 cents per share, on $96.5 million in sales a year ago.

Planet Hollywood's stock closed Friday at its 52-week low of 62.5 cents on the New York Stock Exchange, unchanged from the previous day. The company traded as high as $8 in the past year.
