History is full of examples of technologies and products that went bust because they failed to effect the necessary social change required for their success.

Neither you nor I will clearly recognize those technologies that will succeed until after they have. Thousands of "shorters" were absolutely convinced that AMZN was really scamazon (and ultimately they may be right) but only the marketplace will decide. In the meantime, an awful lot of absolutely convinced "shorters" have had their guts ripped out.
