FWIW I'm of the opinion that there will be need for removable magnetic media for the foreseeable future and that it will coexist with the latest and greatest optical media. You have to love the fact that Sony's buying and giving away Iomega's Zip drives at this late juncture in time. Just speculating here but I would say that if HiFD is dead, we could see Sony using IOM's drives in their other products. Keep in mind that they are facing stiff competition on Playstation from Dreamcast using Zip, the Mavica camera from AGFA coming out with Clik!ed camera and small laptops using Clik!. Just speculating, again, but if this was the case I could see a buyout as a reasonable expectation . Regards Reseller
