Tom, I took half my money off the table in January and gave it to US Trust to run. That is a solid idea, it lowers the family's portfolio beta, adds diversification, etc., but I would only do it in an up-extended market.

I remember discussing my new-found buy-and-hold strategy recently with my regular broker. He said that going from trader to long-term holder is all well and good, just don't change back to trader status after a down market!
