Christine Gnosticism was the prevailing religion of the Christian era until the Roman rulers rewrote and canonized the bible. Mithraism was the dominant sect of the hundreds in existence but all were versions of gnosis origin. Paul, whose writings are the major part of the new testament, was a gnostic and never an Apostle. His following was so large and anti-slavery that after his death of a couple hundred years his works were rewritten to suit the Roman ruler and bring his followers under control of Peter's Holy Roman Catholic Church.

The bible itself proves he was a gnostic and as you check into the gnosis you will find the idea of male dominance could never come from a gnostic. That is why the bible is so confusing. Rome took traditional gnosis and made the gnostic Christ into the historical Jesus. Then destroyed all religious writings they discovered and burned the library at Alexandria. They made the bible the word of God by authority of the majority of the bishops of the state church. To deny meant execution.

I also discovered that Gnosis and Tradition has much to do with the Gospel of Thomas saying "Movement and Rest"; Gnosis stays the same, the Traditions change, by neccessity it has to move - Traditions are dependent on *us*, human beings and our subsisting interest and feeling for them.

It might be that the damage done to "Tradition" in its under-
standing of the transmitted inheritance and its custodianship, so dependent on the -generations- (on human eros, childbearing, grandparenting etc.) is beyond repair; but what will replace it, in
a possible future, what will emerge out of its broken shell?

Since religion has been a major topic here lately I'm sure people
will respond with gusto.

Let me state emphatically I am not a bible believer and promote no church or group affiliation. My spiritual thoughts are far from Atheist but I feel my own reality is mine alone and the same applies to all others.
