Jeffrey, the PAIR scam was actually busted by the 'chatrooms', not when the company announced that it was untrue. If I recall the sequence of events correctly, the price of PAIR had already done a complete roundtrip. Shorting PAIR on that bogus news was my best 'fast' trade that month, and I was ahead of everyone else because the truth was exposed here on SI. Some folks like to concentrate on how folks can put up misleading info in these 'chatrooms', I haven't noticed anyone commenting on how quickly bogus information can be discredited through the same medium.
