A non-legal, non-political response to flag burning:

Give it the attention it deserves- which is none.
How often does this happen? Does it really rate this kind of congressional consideration?
It's on the level of a temper tantrum to me, a juvenile rebellion, an easy thing to do, instead of taking a mature - and more demanding- course of action. If no one paid attention, treated it as the nonproductive childish act it is, then few would do it. For that matter, few do it now.
But make a stink about it, and watch those flags burn. ANd the legal wrangling over it all- what exactly constitutes an American flag? And how do we enforce it?
THe whole thing just seems silly to me.
But then, I'm a mother, not a politician. I don't need my kids' votes to keep my office.
