I spent a couple of hours looking for houses is Alameda Sunday (again). One of the Victorians had wall paper from a company that had been featured in This Old House. I can't remember the name of the company but as soon as I walked in I knew they had supplied it. They even did a treatment to the ceiling. The house was so tastefully refurbished. It was a delight to go into each room. I don't know how you sell a house you put that much love into.

Looked at another house in a good neighborhood that was way below the market. Young families were coming in droves to look at it. Tiny but in move in condition. Problem was it had no back yard basically. What's the point of buying a house if it has no back yard??

Last house was owned by a Major General (retired). It was a museum. Every wall in every room covered with awards, medals, pictures. He had been the head of the Presidio in SF. Taht was an unusual experience.

Well don't know why I am looking since I can't buy now. Nice to dream.
