Kismet Energy Corporation is Pleased to Report that Drilling has Commenced at the Lake Wells Prospect in the Arkoma Basin, Oklahoma

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 1999--Kismet Energy Corporation (the ''Company'') (OTC BB: KISS - news) is pleased to report that drilling has commenced at the Lake Wells Prospect in the Arkoma Basin, Oklahoma with Energas Corp. The John Wells No. 1-28 well began drilling on the 22 June, 1999. The primary focus of the drilling will be natural gas targets. This will be the first well in the 1,600 acre Lake Wells Prospect located in Haskell County, Oklahoma. This well will be drilled to a total depth of 5,400 feet in approximately 8 days and will encounter several zones of interest. The Hunton and Viola formations are the primary target. Kismet Energy Corporation has a 70% working interest in this prospect.

Further announcements will be made in approximately three weeks after the operator completes drilling and testing of this well.

The Lake Wells Prospect lies in the giant Kinta field area, which is projected to have cumulative production of 3 TCF (trillion cubic feet) of natural gas by the year 2000.
