"This company is on the verge of being huge. I know this technology like the back of my hand. It's the next wave in the computer information age we are going through. By providing the common user of a computer with the ability to file documents in an electronic "image" format, it has so many uses. Just to give you an idea how it works, have you been to the bank recently and requested to "look" at your can-celled checks? What they do is plug in your account number in the computer and up pops all the checks on the screen as they originally appeared when you wrote them
This product is explosive. I've designed systems just like this one in the past and I have to say that this is top shelf hands down. They amount ot time and research and energy that went into developing this product just goes to show that they have a tremendous staff and are right on the money for what busi-ness and the likes need.
The name of the game is easy storage and retrieval of documents in their original format and content tie to the source. Then, add in a number of real easy formatting capabilities like electronic highlighting and post-its, you can say good by to filing cabinets and say hello to easy access.
No longer with Mr. Boss have to search for that important document all over the office or building. He'll be able to access it anywhere anytime with the proper security restrictions just at the click of a mouse.
This is such a fabulous product. Like I said, look at FileNet, Inc (NASD:FILE). They have a similar product. They have a distribution arm AMS, Inc (NASD:AMSY) Both of these are doing tremendous. Now. compare that to PLRP and the distribution arm that will be announced next Tuesday. This is a win-win thing all over for everyone.
It has been my experience that these products are priced based on the needs of the business. For ex-ample, the last position I had where we designed a system using components similar to PLRP, the price tag for the initial buy in was $3M. Projections over the next 3 years took it to $15M
I can't belive what I'm reading. The more I get into this, the more I know this is one incredible product. Read this:
All transaction oriented processing is compliant with CORBA, DCOM, Message Oriented Middleware, Remote Procedure Calls, or Publish and Subscribe through standard Windows based DLL support.
Man, these people really have it together. These type of compliances are so prefect. CORBA and DCOM compliance! Remote calls! WOW!!! I can think of millions of businesses that are going to abso-lutely fall in love with this company. And at the price these type of systems go for.... my head is spinning with $$$$. People, this is not your average everyday software outfit. This is grade A top-notch.
CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is a standard for distributed objects being de-veloped by the Object Management Group (OMG). The OMG is a consortium of software vendors and end users. Many OMG member companies are then developing commercial products that support these standards and/or are developing software that use this standard.
CORBA provides the mechanisms by which objects transparently make requests and receive re-sponses, as defined by OMG's ORB. The CORBA ORB is an application framework that provides interoperability between objects, built in (possibly) different languages, running on (possibly) different machines in heterogeneous distributed environments. It is the cornerstone of OMG's Object Management Architecture.
I agree with you in that this is the wave of the future for documentation retrieval. One concern I have is the storage of such material that is an official signed document. Will there be some such block on docu-ments against "tampering"...this is a fear of all people but when you mentioned mortgage companies and such, a person could lose out on everything if their document was changed at a later date. Not that this couldn't happen other wise, but this is always a growing concern. Also, couldn't a doctor who is up on medical malpractice charges, change his orders electronically to cover his behind?...I would think that se-curity would have to be very tight on a system such as this. And that without proper access, a person would only be able to retrieve the documents and not alter them.
Security on the system is all the way to the document level. This is because you may permit someone to look at a folder but you may not want them to know of a document or even view it. For example, if a patient has a mental problem, the doctor may not want the rest of the world to know this.
Also, no tampering can be done. Remember, I stated revision control. What this means is that once a document is saved, it can not be altered. Changes create another document and thus, each change can be viewed. Also remember, this is etched on glass so there is no changing of documents once they are done." |
