A good idea, makes Lucent a better competitor, BUT...
Cisco Powered Network Certification, with the IOS being owned by Cisco makes Lucent into a good investment, but Cisco into a GREAT investment.
Quality, Quality, Quality...
As Paul has said, it will be a cold day in hell when Athlate TM Paul Engel SMP Superservers will encroach in MIS/IT departments.
You don't leave the chance of failure, never mind much higher administration costs (No Binary compatibility) by buying second rate crap, from a loser vendor close to bankrupcy, run by a moron in a pinstripe suit with AMD sewn in his pinstripes !
You will be pounding the pavement soon, along with unemplowed COMS & Bay engineers, along with Borland, Ashton-tate, and other corporate detritus.
Lucent will be around for a while, But Cisco is now the undisputed gorilla, with their hammerlock on the IOS platform. I can adminsiter all devices remotely, with a common IOS/menu anywhere... Does that not remind you of some desktop OS company ?
You got it...
remember the strong get stronger, the weak get weaker in high-tech. we need standards and we are not to standardize on "cripples" that might not be around for very long...
Buy Junk at your peril (possibly career)
Have fun investing Jean |
