DJ CNBC's FABER REPORT:Frontier May Issue '99 Profit Warning

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Frontier Corp.'s (FRO) earnings for 1999 could fall short of
expectations, according to people close to the situation, CNBC correspondent David Faber reported
Monday.

Faber said he wasn't able to confirm that speculation with company officials, who are taking part in a
regularly scheduled board meeting Monday.

Analysts currently expect the company, involved in high-profile acquisition talks with Global Crossing
Ltd. (GBLX) and Qwest Communications International Inc. (QWST), to earn $1.19 a share in
1999.

Faber said Frontier might blame the projected shortfall on Qwest, its would-be suitor, which is also
under contract to build some of Frontier's fiber-optic long-distance telephone lines.

A Frontier spokesman called the speculation not entirely correct, Faber said. He did not give any
more details.
