Good day, Frank. I'm afraid Mr.Fun has set you up for a lot of pesty questions. Many of us G&kers have come to regard him as SI's finest commentator on the telco and networking industries based on his keenly analytical posts on the Cisco thread, but he has passed you the baton with his post that contained the following:

<Frank Coluccio> is the single best informed person on all of SI as far as I can tell, so I also urge everyone to read each and every post Frank has ever made.

Let me be the first to test your patience <g>.

Are you aware of the emerging Bluetooth standard for short range radio links between portable devices ranging from mobile phones to digital cameras. These devices operate in the 2.4GHz range, which is apparently unlicensed and designated for industrial-scientific-medical use. Ericcson is already planning to introduce devices (such as 1mw transceiver) based on Bluetooth, and vlsi is already reportedly offering a developer's kit. Do you see Bluetooth as a threat to cdma for the "wireless last mile" we discussed?

I'll enjoy your comments, provided I can decode all the acronyms you telco guys use <vbg>.

Frank
