FOX NEWS CHANNEL (FNC) LAUNCHING IN 17 MILLION HOMES
--------------------------
Network Secures Deals With Cablevision, Continental,
Comcast & DirecTV

The Fox News Channel (FNC) will launch in more than 17 million homes, announced Roger
Ailes, chairman and chief executive officer, Fox News.

By launching with 17 million subscribers, FNC equals that of Turner Network Television
(TNT) for the most successful launch of a non-retransmission consent cable network.

In addition to the 10.5 million subscriber commitment secured with TCI in June 1996, FNC
has finalized agreements for 6.5 million additional subscribers when it launches October
7th. Agreements with Cablevision Systems, Comcast Cablevision and Continental
Cablevision account for more than one million subscribers at launch, with a long term
aggressive roll out of their respective subscriber bases by the end of 1999.

FNC has also completed dozens of other carriage agreements including those With Rifkin &
Associates, TKR Cable, Intermedia Partners, Bresnan Communications, Prestige Cable TV
and Galaxy Cablevision, comprising three million subscribers.

DirecTV has also agreed to carry the Fox News Channel and launch it to two million of its
subscribers immediately.

In making the announcement Ailes stated, "Operators have expressed great interest in fair
and balanced news programming. Interest in launching FNC continues to grow and we are
still negotiating with a number of MSOs."

Current carriage agreements have the Fox News Channel being available in at least 35
million homes by the end of 1999.

The Fox News Channel is a general news service covering breaking news as well as sports,
entertainment and business news. Launching October 7th, FNC will offer live news casts
every half-hour, 24 hours a day. The Fox News Channel is owned by the News Corporation.
