SiC:Ge is the way it is written in the literature. SiC does mean Silicon Carbide per my research. I took the notation to mean that the underlying wafer is Germanium as opposed to Si for most IC's. I believe the SiC is a stable alloy of Si & C.
Research I have read mentions speed and High tempreature operation as the advantahes of this material. Also, articles indicated that these IC's could be manufactured on the sane equipment currently used at chip foundrys.
