RB - thanks for your efforts to help others see what you see in this company. The rest of this is just my thoughts and opinions too.
I thoroughly read bunches of due dilly packages ( I'd say about fifty to seventy-five) and I found a bunch of real dogs, a few likely scams, a few below average candidates and about four that might be worth doing intense research. After looking at all factors including size of markets, potential growth of markets, the story of the four etc, I contacted Franklin again to find out all I could about the caliber of people behind the story and then I started collecting Franklin stock. By the way the other three I still watch and they are doing okay too - one thing they all share is volatility though. Yet my bet was going to be on Franklin. I was looking for the right baby for a long term hold and I saw Franklin as the one which could probably beat the odds. I was loooking quite frankly for a company with the potential to grow up, gain recognition, have fund following, analyst coverage within a few short years, and yes stock split possibilites up the road.
You see to me there are a lot of stocks which may have a good story, but an unsavory story teller or CEO. Anyway, I figured at the early stage of where Franklin was I wasn't buying the stock really, I was buying a very small piece of the company so to speak. I guess you could say I thought I was buying the future on the cheap.
My FTEL frustration ( if I have any) usually comes from my own lack of patience and a limited threshold with insincere people who really in all likelihood obviously know very little about Franklin Telecom.
Contrary to what others may say - I know for a fact that two individuals have never sold a share of their FTEL stock. All they have done is buy. They truly believe that Franklin is a great investment they are not in love with their stock, they are self confident in their decision to buy and hold.
Did I approach this particualr bet right? Did I look at enough companies? Do I understand what I am doing with my investment time and investment dollars? I think so and that is what matters in my own investment decisions..
Should anybody else do the same? I do not know what works for them. I can say that if you own Franklin you may gain knowledge by learning and understanding the volatile side of FTEL. It may turn out it was your best friend. I know it sounds crazy but I believe this.
Have I made a sound decison? I mean am I right? Who really knows as only time will tell and time is made up of many market days not just a few. Will I ever sell? Yes I may plan to do that at some point of time probably a couple or more years off but only after using the best judgement I can find and understanding my own personal exact reasons for selling. Unless something major or drasticly negative happens it is my present intention to follow this thing through. So far I have stuck by my plan.
I am not asking anyone to buy, hold, or sell Franklin. My whole plan for my future could be a recipe for disaster:) however, I learned a long time ago to plan your work and work your plan. and that is exactly what I personally intend to keep doing.
I do not plan on being deterred by possible insincere unenlightened individuals, nor the market makers, nor the latest "hot deal" the stock of the moment, or whatever. What others post around here which do not affect me and my plan a bit, I may repsond too, but it is due to the fact that I understand who they are trying to persaude and how easy it can be for them to be succesful at it. Therefore stealing dreams from weak people like a thief in the night.
By the way, if Franklin get some good attention in the future I expect new group of "I know it all" folks..... let me tell you about your company ya know... I just arrived here at the 11th hour but I now am going to set you all straight about Franklin Telecom folks. Fat chance is what I will be thinking.
Then there may be the ones who say I hate that tech, the company had problems in the past, all that negative junk. Then they buy it and wow it is great ... the best ever... holy cow!! Then they sell it and Ugh it is awful... then they buy it and it is great again. Well those folks will not deter me either but I do not have to like those methods, as they pray on the unsuspecting.
Yet the ones to watch for might come onto to this thread and say WOW WOW where have you been? How did I miss this? Then buy and keep up this charade until they sell then UGH UGH this company is a dog or I think I will short it bull dung. I like to look at certain information which helps me to spot people like this. They are out here and they do not want to be exposed. Again, I am not going to be detered by the shorters either when they show up.
I believe that there are some probably mentally ill people who possibly roam around the internet looking for good groups of folks or any other positive situation to wreak havoc with. what drives them I haven't a clue but it could possibly relate to some type of Cyber jealousy. Heck it could be a Cyber vendetta for all I know. They too will not deter my plan if or when they ever show up on this thread.
The best thing the unknowledgeable may possibly do is try and work hard to figure out what is what and again that starts with two things a stock symbol and reasearch.
********************************************************************* My Rule #1 of investing and reading a thread of people is:
There are good folks and bad folks anywhere.
My Rule #2 of investing and reading a thread:
If you believe you know your investment it doesn't matter what caliber of people intermittingly stop by; it also doesn't really matter what they say as your self found facts will stand out in your mind. Again research is the key.

There is nothing wrong with being new to anything. However, it is a shame though to see people who might be willing to be new forever, as I simply believe they are selling there own capabilities and their future short. The best bet in life is to bet on yourself and with the internet most excuses for not doing so are gone. The internet can be a powerful tool in the investment reasearch arsenal.
There are no easy ways here. I think if I didn't research and everybody else here turned off their computers I'd be in a sweat for sure.
There is a possibility that there may be some perpetual I don't know crowd . Worrying about the same subjects over and over like when will FTEL get to XXXX price? Well, if everybody ever turns off all the computers I'd bet those same folks would be nervous as heck .
Now, I certainly do not have all the answers. NO WAY. I am fallible as I am human. Any and all of my opinions may be garbage. I am not purporting that anyone follow me. I am purporting that they should follow themselves and also along the way maybe they will be lucky enough to find some good people and build investment opportunites in the future. One of them may be smart enough to find the next Franklin, or Comverse or National Tech Team while still a penny stcok and selling under a buck.
I am hopeful that those here with sincere and hard gained knowledge are more than willing to help others who appear sincere to a point. But I truly believe that the best help is maybe to tell them where to get the answers and not just the possible answers.
Guts alone are not enough in this enviroment. A person is well served to have guts and knowledge.
RB, My hat is off to you and the others who apparently have done their homework on FTEL. I guess we could speculate until the cows come home as the possibilites are so multi-faceted. You know if some of the speculations are even half correct I am going to be extremely happy but not surprised. Thanks for being here on this thread you are an assest IMHO.
The above are again only my opinons and thoughts and I am in no way asking you or anyone else to agree with me or to follow my thinking. Goodness knows it is a full time job for me to be responsible only to myself.
Can yu tell me how you guys survived the junk taking National Tech Team and Comverse Technologies up? In hindsight did you make any mistakes with those two that you wish maybe you hadn't made? I am curious as to how you stayed the course from pennies to dollars cause the last time I loooked they were both doing great.
My Sincere Opinions, Debra
