Allow me to be a "bad cop" for a moment, too, and use some of your own words against you. Earlier you posted that you had sold all your shares over 6, and that you would buy then back at 4.3125, and that Ampex had enabled new lifestyle options for you. Assuming that you actually followed that strategy, you are way in the black on this stock. If you had bought in for the first time at 6 I might be more sympathetic to your frustration, but this stock owes you nothing. Your current position is probably completely paid for by profits from your earlier trade.
You said yourself that you used to trade options, and that you constantly had to trade with a very short term perspective. Maybe that is the problem here. Recall your own words that a benefit of owning stock instead of options is that things have plenty of time to unfold. And things are unfolding in a very, very well done manner, if not perfect.
Look back at where this company was 6 months ago, and you would not recognize the same company. For this much transition to have taken place in this short a time is nothing short of miraculous, and there is no reason to believe that these changes will not continue.
Once again, I say, Way to go Ampex! Carl |
