I periodically search SI for key words like "biometric" "authentication" or "IDX." Sometimes you find something interesting (other than links to the Washington Post that always seem to include the text "idx" as part of the code). For example, that kind of search helped me figure out the technical connection developing between Novell and IDX. Also found a very good link to a Canadian newspaper article quoting a Mastercard spokesman to the effect that Mastercard was considering buying $1.5 billion in fingerprint readers in the next year or two. There are lots of good leads that way.

Then, again, you can run across some fairly dumb posts, too, like the one by Wexler.

If you don't believe me that this was the result of casual research, take a good look at the IDX thread. It has an enormous number of posts turning up all kind of data on and off the Internet regarding IDX and the biometric industry by a number of posters.

I am a long, and that's it. You can even find some items I've posted critical of IDX at times.

Question for you: What makes you think Wexler didn't start this thread as a way of increasing his trading profits by announcing his "coverages," long or short, after he has taken a position in a stock? That is certainly my conclusion.
