Mr. Graham Whitmarsh reports
Mercury Scheduling Systems Inc. has licensed its Internet-based Nova Online software product to leading Danish airline, Maersk Air. For the first time, Mercury will act as an Internet service provider, operating the Nova Online system through the company's Vancouver office.
"This is yet another important development for Mercury," company vice-president, Graham Whitmarsh said. "We expect this agreement will be a model for Internet-hosting services for future clients, and will further entrench our company as a leader in the industry."
Nova Online is an innovative Year 2000 compliant software system that provides airlines with cost-effective Internet-based crew bidding, allowing flight and cabin crew to enter their preferred work schedules from anywhere in the world over the Internet.
According to Mr. Whitmarsh, Mercury is currently establishing the necessary support systems and infrastructure in the company's Vancouver office to provide the Internet hosting of its Nova Online system for Maersk Air and future clients.
Established in 1971, Maersk Air is currently the leading Danish airline and operates both passenger and cargo charter services. The company has a fleet of 37 aircraft and a staff of more than 2,500 employees.
