AFT.V There is a forward looking impact date in the Daimler-Benz associated news release today. August 15/99. This news with Iran was totally unexpected, right out of the blue.
AFS will supply IDEM with 4000 electronic fuel management systems over the next two years. Under the terms of the MOU, a firm order will be placed by IDEM after 30 days of on-road demonstration, to be completed by August 15,1999.
The value of the AFS components supplied will range between US $1100 to $3000 per unit depending on applications. Gerry Klopp added, ''This initial contract is expected to lead to mass production of natural gas powered diesel engines, not only within Iran, but for export markets as well. We are thrilled!''
Now a couple of caveats here, which make me a little hesitant for the LIST.
1. I have had a core position in ATF for about a year. I have also traded it a couple of times in the approx $1.20 to $1.70.
2. Normally ATF rises before news, sells off a bit on the news, then slowly drifts back, and the cycle starts again.
These guys have more big irons in the fire than you can shake a stick at. Mexico City, Santiago, Brazil, India, China, Japan, Australia, Europe, Russia etc. Plus, what could be a revolutionary new catalytic converter now renamed Condor (was called RFC for Reverse Flow Catalytic converter) which just may be the sleeper in the whole arsenal, and Laurel at Bidding on Bay Street would agree with that statement, IMO, as she has said it herself.

One more note, Gerry Kloop, at Cambridge's Vancouver Investment Conference, told a room full of us, "we will be on the TSE this year", not we might be, or we hope to be. |
