Teledesic--I'll look for a link, but that is ancient news. Basically, when the IRID problem became a strong rumor, MOT pulled internal EE's off Teledesic and Stopped or delayed subcontractor work. It could be that IRID had so many bugs that they wanted to focus on IRID. It could be that they wanted to stop the financial commitment to another high risk satellite project. It could be that they wanted to reassess Teledesic's TDMA basis, fearing that yesterday's low capacity would not be competative.
There are a number of regional satelite projects--and I am not familiar with them. In my mind, G* is the only one of the BIG 3 with any credibility left. Unfortunately, there is no basis to do any fundamental analysis of G*. Buying is an act of faith in a way, but their business model may make sense. The only clear thing was that when the IRID stock price went down, it carried G* with it, At that point, G* looked like a good investment.

The participants in the MOT YAHOO board include a lot of totally defensive MOT lifers--thouroughly mixed & well set types.
