The ellipses indicated that I was moving on to respond to another of Steven's points. Sorry I was not more explicit. He suggested that regardless of whether or not I could float non- religious arguments, most people were against it on religious grounds. I responded that even were that true, it would be irrelevant, as long as they buttress their cause with arguments that do not rely on a specific religious viewpoint, and refer to the broad values and concern for the welfare of society common to public policy debates...
