<<<Has
abortion impacted on the rise of child abuse and
abandonment?;>>>

It's a question, but its presence might be seen to imply that there is evidence to support such a notion. It would seem, intuitively, though, that if women are forced to have babies they don't want, there will be more unwanted children born; and that those children would be at a particular risk of abuse or abandonment.

Here is an interesting statistic. I have been unable to get an update, but there is no reason to think that the situation it indicates has changed very much, proportionally.

I found this in the September, 1989 issue of "Hippocrates" magazine, which has since then changed its name to "Health."

-------------------

1.5 million

Number of Mexican women each year who have abortions, all of which are illegal.

140,000

Number of Mexican women who die of complications from these illegal abortions.

-----------------

1.6 million

American women each year who have abortions, most of which are legal.

6

Number of American women who die of complications.
