><>...James .How are you my good brother.....I don't know what Nathan had in mind when he posted

the scriptures on the food laws but I can tell you that all of the items that God commanded us not to eat back then....applies even now...

It doesen't take a rocket scientist....or a Biblical scholar to know the terrible effects of eating the foods that God commanded us not to eat....

V3. in 1Timothy, which you have posted goes on to specifically state..."which God created to be" received"..with Thanksgiving"....
Many foods which we eat were not "created" to be received for food...
V4..."for every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused"....of course every creature which God created is good...for all creatures have their purpose...some for food and some not...such as the swine...they are a scavanger..as are all sea food that do not have scales and fins....ie.Lobsters, shrimp, scallops and clams and oysters...and the like

The subject of Timothy 4 is "False Teachers"...Not food.
I know many ministers and others use this scripture to point out that we may eat "Anything"....But this is not so...

Consider also Peter's vision...Acts 10 :9-16
Peter never did eat of the wild beasts or fowls of the air which were in the sheet....As God took them back 3 times...
The vision had Nothing to do with food...but with the gentiles and bringing the gospel to them....Peter even doubted within himself what this vision meant..Acts 10v17...look carefully at :
v20..."Arise therefore and get thee down, and go with them, doubting "nothing"( quotes mine) ..it became clear at that time what the vision was...God was referring to "men" and not food.....ACTS.10:28

There is a lot more on the subject of food and what is good to eat and what is not....and of course to eat that which was not created by God to be eaten is not a sin unto death......except maybe in the physical sense.(that being disease).....and the Levitical laws should never be a reason for division within the christian church....but a clearer understanding and accurate interpretation of those laws would certainly make for a more healthy church ....who are then more able to serve God as He intended...

The body of Christ has made allowances for itself that smack of "satisifying the flesh"....and other justifications for dismissing other commands of god under the auspices of "grace"....and "freedom"..but they have erred in many areas....

It became pretty difficult to turn down an "All you can eat shrimp dinner"... at your local...fish restaurant...

Consider also and especially...
Matthew 5:17;20

Love in our Lord Jesus the Christ
Shalom....><>
