Richard,

I'm sorry. I just don't have the time to educate you on the dynamics and mechanisms of Central Bank Intervention in the currency markets (ex: recent BOJ intervention to prop up the dollar).

Suffice it to say that if the BOJ sells yen and buys dollars, the yen gets weaker and the dollar stronger.

Some people would claim that is "manipulation" and they would be right. But it is legal manipulation apparently and done in the pursuit of the national interest.

So is gold "still" currency??

As for Rivlin, I didn't know that FOX covered that story. CNBC certainly didn't even though I directly brought it to the attention of Ted David who posts here on SI.

Regards,

Ron
