"My theory is that HDSL2 deployments are beneficial to T1 port card shipments to the extent that they are deployed in pairgain applications. As far as HDSL2 being used in business internet access applications, it could connect to a fiber backbone without ever touching a Titan."

Chuck,
I think I understand what you are saying. Maybe a better question would be to ask, are there that many Titans out there that have places to plug port cards into? Especially if there is literally a doubling of T1 lines available for the telco to sell to their customers.

And I don't understand how the Titan works well enough to figure out what you are saying about a direct connection to the fiber backbone. I thought all T1/T3 users break up the T1/T3 bandwidth so their business can have multiple phone lines, plus some data lines, etc. In other words, isn't it rare for a T1/T3 to be connected directly to the fiber backbone and bypass a digital cross connect altogether?
Thanks,
MikeM(From Florida)
