Dwight-- There's still a chance they won't, but I do think that Unk's talk this morning tips the balance. By now there's not a FedHead out there who hasn't warned of the dangers of nascent inflation over the course of the last week or so. You're right: when did we last have a single small rate hike and nothing more? Though if they raise at the March meeting they may skip May in order to get more data together. 25 basis points, if it stops there, is unlikely to be a total disaster. But like you, I think they'd do better to leave things alone. I make these kinds of pronouncements regularly, but do they listen?? Janice
