SanDisk Supplies CompactFlash Memory Cards to e.Digital for New Lanier Cquence Mobile Recorder
Digital Dictation Device Uses SanDisk CompactFlash for Healthcare and Legal Applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1999-- SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK - news) announced today that it will supply e.Digital Corporation with its CompactFlash(TM) (CF(TM)) memory cards for use with Lanier's new digital Cquence Mobile, a dictation device for the healthcare and legal industries.

Cquence Mobile is a full-featured portable digital dictation recorder paired with a docking station for downloading of digital voice and demographic data. A Healthcare Provider, for example, can dictate medical documentation regarding a patient into the recorder. When the Cquence Mobile is later docked, those digital voice files are downloaded from the SanDisk CompactFlash memory card to a voice server where they are ready for transcription.

''The Lanier Cquence Mobile allows for capturing demographics, such as user ID, type of work and patient/case number through the use of a convenient telephone-style keypad or built-in barcode scanner,'' said Fred Falk, president of e.Digital. ''In designing this product for Lanier, we chose SanDisk's CompactFlash memory cards as the storage device for the voice files because of their reliability, low-power consumption, high capacity and backward/forward compatibility.''

Nelson Chan, vice president of marketing at SanDisk, said, ''Our CompactFlash memory cards have increased the functionality for many products in several markets including digital voice recorders. With more mobile products such as digital cameras, Internet music players, handheld PCs and digital voice recorders relying on our CompactFlash memory cards for expansion memory, CompactFlash has earned its reputation as the industry's standard universal memory card.''

SanDisk-branded CompactFlash cards, ranging in capacity between 4 and 96MB, are available at more than 10,000 stores worldwide as well as through an extensive worldwide industrial distribution channel.

SanDisk Corporation, the world's largest supplier of flash data storage products, designs, manufactures and markets industry-standard, solid-state data, digital imaging and audio storage products using its patented, high density flash memory and controller technology. SanDisk is based in Sunnyvale, CA.
