I thought the Illuminati were a joke, or a hoax. My husband likes Robert Anton Wilson, who writes science fiction about the Illuminati.

As for people who are suspicious of the Jesuits, one thing I've learned is that some people see a hidden conspiracy behind everything, and most people believe in at least one hidden conspiracy. I am one of the few people I know who don't actually believe in any hidden conspiracy - my opinion of mankind is too low to accept that humans are capable of actually keeping a conspiracy secret.
