The problem for the long distance companies, and I think they're really starting to notice this, is that for a nominal fixed fee, I can now use my Sprint PCS cellular phone for all my long distance calls, and my local calls, and kiss off their services alltogether. MCI called me the other day, and wondered why I had cancelled my service... I told them I can make toll free long distance with my Sprint service, and they said "Oh.. OK" and hung up. In the past I've almost had to beat them off with a stick to get them to leave me alone, but it seemed like the operator knew there was no gimmick she could offer me that was better than free.
