My take on the AV deal...

Overall, I am neutral. I invested in Compaq when they were gathering valuable internet-related assets. I thought that they would lead this company successfully into this arena. I was wrong. They didn't seem to put together any kind of plan. Time continued to pass.

Now, they have sold-off their most valuable internet-related asset for a strategic partnership with one of the more successful internet companies. Is this useful? Are they going to come up with a plan this time? I do not believe that CMGI is going to hand them the plan. After all, CMGI does not have a vested interest in seeing Compaq succeed. In fact, this deal may limit some of CMGI's potential. The Compaq management, not yet named, must generate the plan.

In short, I want to see Compaq's plan to leverage their relationship with CMGI. (IT NEEDS TO BE BIG!)
