Something did change.

Whether the company changed guidance or not, the fact is the first quarter may be weaker than "the street" was expecting. Going forward, some of the four analysts who cover the stock believe the revenue and EPS weakness can be made up in the back part of the year. Others aren't so sure. But no matter where the EPS works out between the current estimates of $1.18 - $1.25, all the analysts currently rate the stock a buy.

And yes, I will agree that if the ADS business goes away (all the european automotive companies drop GEN), then the company will not have the growth rate anticipated. Is that a likely scenario? Is GEN falling behind the curve in diagnostic testing? Is ADS growing now or contracting? How you view the ADS growth (and board test growth) will influence one's valuation of the stock.

As for the conference calll, you had analysts that were incredulous that management was claiming to be unaware of the estimates (and the fact that guidance was changed), and investors that were ticked that they couldn't get a response from the company. A little venting by all may have sharpened the company's awareness of the communications issues.
