Milberg Weiss just paid $50 million to settle a defamation lawsuit, after being found liable by a jury trial, that arose from false allegations they made in a lawsuit. I suggest you are the one who should be checking the case law.

And Pluvia was publishing allegations before the lawsuit was public, it will be interesting to see whether any laws on trading on material non-public information were involved.
