Have to run out for a bit. I'll post later but it really is based upon the way the stock has been traded by the respective market makers over the last few days. Merrill owes the street one, with one upgrade it can kill the little broker/dealers' net equity gains and help the institutions with the second side of their successful trade, the upside. They and Hambrecht have been completely off the ask for the better part of the afternoon, Merrill more so than Hambrecht. They speak about a Chinese wall between investment banking/research and equity trading -- <g><g><g> -- no such thing, it's worse at Goldman.

Let's face it, the big did well on this one. I'll finish my thoughts later.
