Alan:

The nature of these "threads" limit our ability to fully explore the complete ramifications of developments like additional development of silver batteries. For example, I suspect that making the economics of big silver batteries attractive would require ability to totally recycle the silver.

I prefer to find investments that don't require major new product applications or "black boxes", etc. Just give me good old demand from standard, and therefore stable, applications exceeding a supply whose growth is limited because of immutable characteristics of lead times for developing, and financing, new output, and I can make money consistently. Of course, it doesn't hurt if major new applications arise. I just like "lead pipe cinches" - like silver.
