SEARS CANADA INC. TO MARKET SENCO'S RESIDENTIAL CO DETECTOR THROUGHOUT CANADA
VANCOUVER - Senco Sensors Inc. (SSZ.V) is pleased to announce the addition of Sears Canada Inc. to their growing list of major Canadian retail outlets. Sears Canada Inc. is a national merchandising organization, which boasts approximately 109 full-line department stores, 20 free-standing furniture stores, 93 dealer stores and the country's only full-line general merchandise catalogue which reaches more than four million households, and thousands of communities across the country. This places Sears Canada as the largest single full-line retailer of general merchandise and home-related services. The Senco Model ONE carbon monoxide detector will be on the shelves at Sears in time for the fall heating season.
Sears Canada emphasizes their exceptional service and quality by appealing to a broad range of Canadian customers. In 1998, Sears Canada enjoyed a year of record growth while fulfilling its vision to be a "Great Place to Shop, Work and Invest". This success is in part due to the Company's decision to remain committed to full-line merchandising while other department stores have changed their focus, eliminating entire categories of products. Sears Canada has developed an innovative approach to retailing through brand strategy, complete customer service and unique sales channels.
Senco's top-of-the-line Model ONE differentiates itself from the competition by offering reliable CO detection at levels as low as 30 ppm with the accuracy of higher-cost industrial sensors. It features state-of-the-art electrochemical sensor technology, high and low level alarm points, digital display with easy to read action icons, an audible alarm, and Senco's unique manual test mode which allows the consumer to instantly test the detector with a known source of CO.
According to the Canada Safety Council, some 200 people are killed each year in Canada by CO poisoning, with approximately 1,500 others suffering serious injuries. Senco Sensors Inc. is dedicated to becoming a major manufacturer of high quality residential carbon monoxide detectors.
