There was an interesting article in WSJ a couple of weeks ago about MM"s who post phony bids before the open in order to give the illusion the stock is bid up. If you offer to sell at that price your order won't get filled. The phony bid gives the appearance that there is buying, bringing in sucker buyers, who, do indeed, bid up the price. The MM's sell into the opening strength, and Poof! The uptick is gone.

I don't know that this is what is happening with WIND, but I thought the WSJ gave the story credibility.
