I guess I chose the Shuttle external tank because it does not strike me as pristine or immaculate. That chalky orange color is strangely incongruous when held up next to the rest of our space hardware, or even that of any other spacefaring nation.
The tank-painting party would have to be in Florida - somewhere near the assembly point. There's no point in making this expensive.
