LONDON (AFX) - Dixons Group PLC's Freeserve has lost some 10,000 customers
to rival internet provider themutual.net, which promises to give away shares in
Freeserve for nothing, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Freeserve hopes to float on the stock exchange next month at a price which
is likely to value the company's 1.2 mln customer base at around 2 bln stg.
"Subscribers and content providers are beating a path to our door and we
haven't even launched yet," the report cites themutual.net executive chairman
Clive Sinclair-Poulton as saying.
But a Freeserve spokesman said Freeserve has been overwhelmed with
applications from investors interested in its listing.
