<<Yeah, that gold story was a weird one. Didn't some people think the British government was involved in somehow manipulating prices?>>
Well, know this is true, the advisor who suggest they sell is a big wig at GS.
Don't know if this is true or not, It has been widely reported that GS has a naked short gold position.
try poking around in www.gata.org I'll dig you up some info.
This one really tears at the soul, as one who believes less government is better government, how can I even want the CFTC or SEC to look into the possible manipulation of precious metals prices?
If though, governments or pseudo governmental groups(world bank,IMF,UN) are acting to manipulate prices lower, should it be fought with another governmental arm?

Guess the real questions are can one use an evil to comit a good act? Should manipulation be outside the law?
