Carl! That's very funny! In fact, being able to change swiftly is a valuable asset in this field (as those who have hung on to AXC shares for the last umteen years will tell you). In the Pali, it is called “Kusala Kama” “Skillful Action,” and is an essential skill for anyone wishing to develop magic power. Carlos Castinada's Don Juan mentions it in a discussion with Carlos when he tells him that if both of them were walking under a cliff and there were a landslide, Carlos would be killed, while he would survive. He doesn't explain why, but in the Pali, it would be because he swiftly changed his mind and “remembered” that he was somewhere else. Naturally, for the most part in this society, changing one's mind often is considered a sign of weakness.
