I don't think Cramer was "predicting" a .50% increase. I believe he was just "speculating" on it. Cramer is difficult to read - he often says things that make you think he is taking a side on an issue, but when you analyze his words, you realize that he is being extremely vague. In the article I reference, he quotes his business partner Jeff Bekowitz as saying "Only 50 basis points will work now." It's hard to determine if:

1. Cramer advocates that view.

2. The statement was made to indicate a single .50% hike or two .25% hikes.

I read Cramer's column regularly - he always writes like this, being very vague in his words. He'll rarely take a strong stance on important issues, as doing so may come back to haunt him should he be wrong. I would be inclined to interpret his words in this case as meaning that "there is a possible chance that we might see a .50% hike today or a total of .50% in hikes over the next few months."
