Tambo Grande is a large town of 10,000 people, 1/2 of whom would need to be relocated and the other half would need to be paid-off to accept continual blasting and equipment noise from a large open-pit. This would cost tens of millions of dollars that would need to be added to the up-front production cost.

This is the reason the deposit has not been mined with copper prices at $1.40/pound and gold at $370/ounce. And now with copper prices at 50% and gold at 70% of these previous levels there is even less chance the project could be shown to be economic!!
