Even with the cautious attitude of big pharma towards biotech aquisitions my biotech portfolio is still transforming into a big pharma one at a rapid pace. Unfortunately not by biotech companies transforming into big pharma by their own growth but by takeovers with pretty modest premiums. First AGPH -> WLA now SUGN -> PNU.

I wonder if biotech investing with its enormous price volatility and development risk makes sense when the best companies disappear long before they can show their full potential. Maybe that is one of the reasons why biotech stocks have essentially done nothing for the last few years.
